Weather Seal for Wood Doors
We have several options for you when it comes to sealing the bottom of your wood garage door to your floor.
This particular garage door weather seal is made of soft, sponge EDPM Rubber, not vinyl, actual RUBBER. This weather seal for wood doors is a standard duty type of weather seal that will last for many, many years. Once you actually see and feel this weather seal you may find that you have other uses for it, it is just that type of product. Very well made and is the perfect solution if you are looking for a quick replacement weather seal for your wood door. Once installed, forget about it.
Very easy to install with the included roofing nails.
The flat 1-3/8″ wide portion of the seal is nailed to the door, the long lip is to the inside of the door.
All lengths are a minimum of 2″ longer than the listed length allowing you to cut to fit your door, very easy to cut with a sharp utility knife.

Installation:
Remove the old weather seal from the garage door and pull out all the old nails. Scrape the bottom of the door with a scraper removing all dirt, debris, old paint and so on. At this point we highly recommend that you paint, treat or seal the bottom of your wood garage door. Any good wood sealer will do, a quality paint will help, we have even used roofing tar in extremely moist areas. It is important to do all you can to prevent moisture from coming into contact with untreated wood and the bottom of the garage door is very susceptible to moisture.
Once the bottom of the door is dry, simply hold the garage door weather seal in place and start pounding in the nails. It is important to drive the nails just flush with the weather seal and not drive them so far or tight that you dimple the weather seal, this particular weather seal for wood doors is soft and will easily dimple so it pays to tap lightly when getting close to the final few taps with the hammer.
Once in place the garage door weather stripping for wood doors will conform to slight irregularities of the garage floor but this particular weather seal is recommended primarily for floors that are fairly level and issue free. We have other options for progressively worse floor conditions.
